Teaching Resources

Collaboration helps us to do our best as teachers. I have learned so much about how to teach from others, and have benefited from their open-handed sharing of resources.

Here you’ll find my small attempt to pay it forward by making available pedagogical materials I’ve developed through years of teaching political theory at Columbia University and Murray State University.

This page (Introduction to Political Theory) makes available parts of a curriculum I am developing that makes use of what I call a conceptual literacy approach for introducing students to the uniquely varied discipline of political theory.

This page (Teaching Core Texts of Moral and Political Thought) makes available reading questions that I developed for many key texts in the history of moral, political, and religious thought.

Here (Background and Enrichment Materials for Core Texts) are further resources for teaching courses in the history of moral, political, and religious thought from Columbia’s Center for the Core Curriculum, where I was a postdoctoral fellow.
